BHC again orders quashing of all cases against Senator Azam Swati

The Balochistan state supreme court (BHC) on Monday, once again, ordered the dismissal of all the cases registered against West Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) legislator Azam Swati within the province for disputed tweets against military officers.

Justice Abdul Majeed Baloch issued the directives whereas hearing a petition connected the new cases registered against the legislator in Balochistan. 3 cases were registered against Swati in Winder, Bela and Chaman. 

This is the second time that the state supreme court has ordered the dismissal of cases registered within the province against the legislator over his disputed tweets.  

On Dec nine, the BHC ordered to quash all the primary data reports (FIR) registered against the legislator. 

The orders were issued by the BHC on a petition filed by the senator’s son against the registration of the cases in Balochistan. 5 FIRs were registered in Balochistan against Swati in Kuchlak, Hub, Zhob, and 2 different areas of the province.

SHC orders to not register cases 

Moreover, the Sindh state supreme court has additionally ordered that no cases ought to be registered against Swati within the province within the disputed tweets case. 

Swati’s custody was given to national capital Police. Sindh lawyer General Faiz Shah of Iran aforementioned that the cases registered against the legislator are classified as “C-class”.

The court directed that no more FIR ought to be registered against Swati within the case. It additional that multiple cases were registered against Swati in several areas of the province on one charge.

Controversial tweets cases

Swati was engaged in multiple cases across the country for his disputed tweets against military officers.

He was initial inactive within the case of a disputed tweet in Oct, once he denote a highly-hateful and threatening message against the military chief, judiciary, and different state establishments, on his official Twitter account.

The legislator secured bail in this case.
